Maintenance Window - Sunday June 7

Posted by C. G. Brown Fri, 05 Jun 2009 22:57:00 GMT

We'll be doing some upgrades on the ProjectLocker servers this weekend to improve the performance of ProjectLocker Portal and a number of ProjectLocker accounts, starting Sunday, June 7 at 8 am EDT (12 pm GMT) and ending at 6 pm EDT (10 pm GMT). If your server name ends in 1 (e.g. seed1.projectlocker.com), you may experience some distruptions of service during this period. Users of ProjectLocker Portal may also experience disruptions of service. ProjectLocker Enterprise users and accounts on our other servers are not affected.

We're excited about the growth that has led to this point and look forward to the improvements in performance that will allow us to continue to provide you the best service in the industry.

Import your Trac and Subversion automatically into ProjectLocker

Posted by C. G. Brown Tue, 19 May 2009 02:41:00 GMT

For some time, we've had the ability for you to import your Subversion repository either by uploading it or by pointing ProjectLocker to an HTTP, FTP,or SCP location. Did you know that you can now also automatically import your Trac repository?

We have just rolled out Trac import capabilities. Got a Trac instance zip or tar file from another provider and looking to move, or even just try out ProjectLocker? Sign up for an account, log in to ProjectLocker Portal, and follow the instructions in our Support FAQ to upload your repository and Trac instance.

With this addition, our customers will be up and running faster than ever. As always, we encourage you to try us and the competition, and let your own judgment decide which is the better value.

As always, we're looking for more ways to make your ProjectLocker experience better and your working life easier, so if you have any ideas for where we should be focusing our attention, don't hesitate to comment or send us an e-mail.

More Space and Users for Free, Seed, and Angel Accounts

Posted by C. G. Brown Tue, 05 May 2009 20:45:00 GMT

At ProjectLocker, we are constantly striving for ways to deliver more value for your subscription. That's why we've made the following upgrades to our plans:

  • Free plans are now 500 MB and 5 users (up from 300 MB / 2 users)
  • Seed plans are now 2.5 GB and 5 users (up from 1 GB / 2 users)
  • Angel plans are now 5 GB and 5 users (up from 3 GB / 5 users)
  • Seed pricing has been reduced from $30 per year to $25 per year

Of course, all plans have unlimited projects, and allow Subversion projects and Git projects to co-exist in the same account. We're also keeping the basic services you expect, such as disaster recovery backups and SSL access, at no additional charge for both free and paid accounts.

If you're an existing subscriber, these adjustments have been made automatically, so no action should be required. If you've signed up in the last 30 days, open a ticket at ProjectLocker Portal and you can adjust your plan at no cost to you per our money-back guarantee. If you've signed up in the last 60 days for an annual plan and wish to downgrade, open a ticket and we will adjust your plan and refund the full difference in costs if applicable. If you're on a monthly plan and wish to downgrade, open a ticket before the next billing date and we'll adjust your plan going forward.

Any free users that have extra space due to referrals or incentive codes will have that space added on to the new sizing. For instance, if you had 50 MB of extra space, you now have 550 MB total.

We think this pricing makes our already competitive offering the best value for your Subversion hosting, Git hosting, or Trac hosting needs. Compare our prices and service to the competition and decide for yourself!

Lighthouse Integration Is Here

Posted by C. G. Brown Wed, 29 Apr 2009 22:10:00 GMT

Attention all Lighthouse fans: we at ProjectLocker have released an integration between Subversion and Lighthouse. Much credit goes to James Cox and the Lighthouse gang for writing a sample beacon that we used as the basis for ours, described here. Like the sample beacon, you can both submit changesets and act on tickets through your commit log messages. Existing customers can check the Support FAQ for details on how to set it up. The integration is also available for all accounts, so if you've been looking for free Subversion hosting with Lighthouse integration, you've found it.

We of course are fans of Trac at ProjectLocker, but recognize that no two teams work exactly the same way, and there are a lot of ways to track issues and manage projects. That's why we will continue to support your software team working in the way that is best for them, and continue to work with great partners like Lighthouse, Basecamp, FogBugz, and others to allow our customers to use our products and theirs together. We're excited about continuing to grow our ecosystem and hope that you find our integration points useful.

Got a great software developer tool or product? We want to hear about it. Whether you're a training company looking to offer educational services, a component vendor with libraries or controls that speed development, or a product vendor with an innovative IDE, build, or test tool, we're looking forward to hearing from you. Rally Integration Update - Multiple Workspaces Support

Posted by C. G. Brown Fri, 17 Apr 2009 20:31:00 GMT

For those of you who use Rally Software's solutions, we've done a pass over the Subversion integration with Rally to make it easier to set up and add support for multiple Rally workspaces. If your Rally account has access to the API, you can use our integration seamlessly by putting your Rally user name and password into your user profile, and having your account administrator set the appropriate URL for access to the API. Once this is set up, commit messages that reference artifacts are linked to the artifacts and can even act on them in some cases (for example, closing a ticket). If you have any questions, more detailed instructions are available in the support FAQ in ProjectLocker Portal.

We welcome any additional input you have as users as to what integration points you would like to see between ProjectLocker and Rally, or other tools in general. We want to help you write great software the way that works best for your team.
